The thing about growing older is that...at the end of the day...you know it's all going to be alright. When you fail you know there will be other opportunities to make it good. When you succeed, you know this is not to last. And if you've somewhat played your cards right, you will be left with few friends and family who will love you no matter what, and moments you've lived and cherished that will make it all worthwhile.
The only pitfalls I guess are gray hair and low metabolism. And also some cynicism. Not all those dreams come true. But there are some unexpected happy coincidences which more than make up.
Well, halfway through life, that's what I think. Happy birthday to me! To an adventure filled rollercoaster in 2012.

Liked this sentence; 'When you succeed, you know this is not going to last..'. However, 'You know it's going to be alright'- where does that flow from? - Is it the inner confidence that whatever obstacles and disppointments might come one's way, one wud handle it with more equanimity. In fact I wud concur with the line - 'And also some cynicism...', though not sure whether that would be everyone's experience? Anyway, a nice way to reminisce and start the new year :)
